La Liga Habanera was formed ten years ago in Havana, Cuba, and is now based in Sweden. Since their inception, the band has brought their modern, soulful, funky take on Cuban “Timba” to audiences across Sweden and Europe – inspired by Buena Vista Social Club, Los Van Van, Beny Moré, Havana de Primera, and Earth Wind & Fire.
Authentic Cuban Sound
The Cuban vocalists deliver a solid choir package adorned with lead vocals, accompanied by the rhythm section’s swinging Afro-Cuban beats. The three-piece horn section is the definition of tightness, while the pianist and bassist pump out montunos that make the dance floor come alive!
